Agility in the transit of goods and growth of trade.
Construction has begun on the eighth railway bridge between Mexico and the United States, which will speed up the transit of goods and contribute to the growth of North American trade.
It is expected to increase train traffic, which in the long term could rise to 60 units per day.

Currently, the railway transports all types of goods except live animals and certain hazardous materials. Intermodal transport is the one with the highest volume, that is, 46% against general cargo, but in revenue it is 16%, hence the importance of the new bridge.
The construction of the second railway bridge between Nuevo Laredo (Tamaulipas) and Laredo (Texas) is 35% complete and once completed, at the end of next year, it will contribute to increasing the crossing from between 21 and 22 trains to 30 or 35 trains per day.
Among the expected innovations are gamma-ray machines to be able to scan the same number of trains.
The investment of 120 million dollars for this double trade lane implies an increase in trade capacity. Today it represents 16 thousand daily land crossings and two thousand wagons.
The railway project projects an investment of 500 million pesos of private investment for the city of Nuevo Laredo in Mexico. It is an opportunity to attract new companies and products that transit through the border crossing.
The project is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2024 and thereafter, the increase in cargo will begin at this point.
The relocation of industries in the region, a phenomenon known as nearshoring, for which the local government has begun with a promotional campaign to offer the benefits of the municipalities, the main one being its proximity to the main global market.
There are already incentives for companies that agree to settle in the area, which can go up to 40 or 50 percent discount on payments of rights or permits.
The double railroad will increase and streamline binational trade in refrigerated products, as well as the shipment of vegetables from Mexico to the United States; among other raw materials for its transformation.
